FROM THE DIRECTOR
Welcome to our 26th Annual San Bruno AYSO Turkey Tournament. It is with great
pleasure that I welcome you to our tournament and the City of San Bruno as the
Tournament Director. We are proud to offer this Thanksgiving weekend tournament
experience for young players and their families. We work all year to make this a special
event for you.
This year we continue the Keeper Wars on Saturday evening. This is our second year
for this event in San Bruno Turkey Tournament. Each team will be provided with 2 slots
(others may participate based on space) for this fast paced event. Each player (not
necessarily just keepers) tries to score and stop goals, one-on-one, against another
keeper in two minutes.
AYSO’s philosophy of Everyone Plays, Open Registration, Balanced Teams, Positive
Coaching, Good Sportsmanship and Player Development are what we are all about.
This tournament is one more way in which we support AYSO’s mission to provide world
class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. All together AYSO is about
promoting a safe, fair, fun family environment. Help us keep it this way and let the
board members or field marshals know about your concerns while you’re on the field.
Our tournament and region is 100% behind this mission for the sake of the players. All
soccer fields are designated as Kids Zones where we’re all reminded about the
philosophies and the need to support all the kids including those on the other team.
Kids Zone also means using appropriate language, keeping tempers in check, showing
respect for referees and tournament staff as well as demonstrating Good
Sportsmanship. I’d like to encourage all coaches and players to thank the other team
and most importantly the referees because without them there would be no
tournament.
Please join us again this year in donating Toys for Tots as we keep the great work of
Linda Kratchovil, a very dear friend and long time tournament volunteer, in our
memory. If you can, please help us and donate to such a worthy charity. Just drop your
donation off at the Field Marshal tent at any field.
Thanks to the City of San Bruno, the San Bruno Park School District, the San Mateo
Union High School District and Skyline College for their help in providing playing fields.
Please help us maintain our good standing with these agencies by respecting the field
rules and staff, keeping the area clean and participating in the Kids Zone pledge.
All teams brings with them a desire to compete against other players and test their
skills. Let’s keep the comments about our own players and opponents positive in
nature and recognize that the coaches and players have worked hard to compete on
the pitch this year. This tournament provides the opportunity to relax watching your
player enjoy the game of soccer with other players.
Please join with me and take a minute to thank the fantastic group of volunteers who
have helped make this tournament a reality. Please make a special effort to thank the
Referees who were there to keep your players safe. Now let’s play soccer!

Skyline College & Lions Field Rules and

Regulations Use of “Turf” Fields

 No animals  No parking allowed in staff / faculty lots
 No glass containers  No strollers, tricycles,
skateboards, rollerblades and/or
 No alcohol or tobacco products
motorized vehicles
 No footwear with metal studs
 No food or drinks (except water)
 No spikes greater than a ¼ inch long
including sunflower seeds, shelled nuts,
 No fires or BBQ's
gum, candy and / or energy bars on field
 No golf
 No poles or stakes in the field
 No illegal contraband
 No kicking or hitting balls into fencing
 No playing during heavy rain and / or
an electrical storm
 Permits are required to park in
student lots
