The focus of this book, the legal situation created when an agent acts
withoutauthority,isoneofthemostimportantissuesinagencylaw.The
analysis is divided into three sections: apparent authority, ratification
andtheliabilityofthefalsusprocurator.Adoptingauniquecomparative
perspective,thecontributionsaredrawnfrommanydifferentlegalsys-
