FOREWORD This book is a lovemaking guide of enormous practical
• value, and it properly belongs in the how-to sex manual
genre. But you will not find quick relief recipes or tables of
survey statistics, as useful as such information is. Sexual
Energy Ecstasy not only offers sexual knowledge, it offers
sexual wisdom as well.
The authors assume that Westerners are ready to learn
from Tantric and Taoist traditions and other holistic sources.
The skill with which they weave a tapestry of the old and
new, of ancient Chinese Deer exercises and 1990s verbal
affirmation techniques, may just make their assumption a
reality. This unique sex therapist-massage therapist team,
who are also husband and wife, has developed a pragmatic
yet provocative holistic approach to enhancing the sexual
experience for a culture that puts a higher premium on
instant gratification than on well-earned satisfaction.
While many of the lovemaking styles and skills described
herein will ask you to stop rushing after your "solitary cre
scendos," the authors are not purist advocates of decelera
tion per se. They would have us embrace the historical
perspective embodied in the holistic lovemaking concept.
They have presented us with a gracious gestalt of the sexual
legacies of the world, including the little-known American
sacred sexuality legacy, that we can understand and use and
