THE LA KIUVA COOPERATIVE WAS FOUNDED IN 1975
IN THE VAL D’AOSTA, THE SMALLEST ITALIAN REGION,
NESTLED IN THE ALPS TO THE NORTH-WEST OF THE
ITALIAN PENINSULA, BORDERING WITH FRANCE AND
SWITZERLAND.

• 60 growers, 15 hectares of vines
• All the vineyards are located between 380 and 500 m above sea level
• Soil: sandy and alkaline
• Cultivation method: Guyot and Pergola, on sandy glacier-crafted
terraces
• Alpine climate: wide temperature variations between day and night
increase the acidity and freshness of the grapes
• A boutique cooperative which produces only 6000 cases/year
• Right at the heart of the Alps, in the small and beautiful village of Arnad
• La Kiuva is committed to giving value to the terroir and the indigenous
grape variety (Nebbiolo, known as Picotendro). Members were
encouraged to take over old, abandoned vineyards in the best areas in
order to produce authentic and sustainable wines.

BORGOGNO IS ONE OF THE OLDEST WINERIES OF
ITALY. IT WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1761 BY BARTOLOMEO
BORGOGNO, RIGHT IN THE VILLAGE OF BAROLO.

• The Borgogno estate spans over 16 hectares at the heart of Barolo
production area
• Elevation: 300-450 m a.s.l.
• The winery still follows the traditional Barolo production method: long
contact with the skins, concrete tank fermentation and ageing in big
barrels of Slavonian oak
• Still today vinification and bottling take place in the original and historic
building built in 1761
• One of the most remarkable characteristics of Borgogno is a unique
library collection of back vintages of Barolo Riserva that dates back to
the 1960s
• Focused on the Barolo production, with three of the most prestigious
single vineyards around the village of Barolo: Cannubi, Liste and Fossati.
Also produces: Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo d’Alba.
