MUNDUS ACP I & II
In 2010, The University of the West Indies (UWI) joined the University of Porto’s
ERASMUS MUNDUS project as one of only two full partners in the Caribbean.
In 2011, The UWI continued its partnership in the ERASMUS MUNDUS program as a full
partner in MUNDUS ACP II.
As a Partner Institution of the project, The UWI worked with other members of the
consortium to ensure maximum quality of the project via a system of support.
The UWI took an active role in:
- Promotion of the project
- Administration
- Student support

MUNDUS ACP I & II
Challenges
• Developing the institutional capacity necessary to actively
manage a project of this scale (e.g. Allotment of resources,
training of staff)
• Developing ‘best practices’ to share accross the regional
UWI system and effectively participate in international
consortia
• Transfering knowledge/experience to other Caribbean
institutions to help build capacity at the regional level
