Preface
The Association for the Advancement of Modelling and Simulation Techniques in
Enterprises (AMSE) and University of Girona are pleased to present the main
resultsoftheInternationalConferenceofModellingandSimulationinEngineering,
Economics, and Management, held in Girona, Spain, 28 to 29 June 2018, through
this book of proceedings published with Springer in the Series: Advances in
Intelligent Systems and Computing.
In this edition of the MS International Conference, we gave special attention to
the use of bibliometrics in social science.
Sixteen papers from 17 universities around the world constitute the MS 2018
Girona proceedings. The book mainly presents papers with a strong orientation to
modelling and simulation in general fields of research. But it also covers some
papers close to the field of bibliometrics in social sciences.
We would like to thank all the contributors, referees and the scientific and
honorary committees for their kind cooperation with MS’18 Girona. Finally, we
