LOCK Mode and an available CVT automotive transaxle with AutoStick®
shifter with six distinct “speeds.” AutoStick allows the driver to maximize

Patriot’s available Trail Rated® Freedom-Drive II Off-Road Group helps earn
Patriot the nod for best-in-class off-road capability.(1) It’s due to the group’s
active, full-time 4WD with LOCK Mode, Hill Descent Control (HDC) with
grade sensing and Hill Start Assist (standard on Freedom-Drive II 4WD as
well as manual transmission equipped models), skid plates, tow hooks,
increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, heavy-duty cooling and
alternator, and driver-seat height adjuster matched to a Continuously
Variable Automatic Transaxle (CVT2L) with 19:1 crawl ratio.
Four-wheel independent “touring tuned” suspension improves on-road
handling and cornering yet provides a smooth ride. A brawny yet efficient
2.4L dual VVT engine achieves best-in-class 4WD EPA estimated 28
highway mpg,(2) while delivering 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque. Patriot’s
2.0L four-cylinder engine cranks out a healthy 158 hp and 141 lb-ft of

Jeep Patriot received the highest marks — Five Stars — during side crash tests performed as part

of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s SaferCar.gov program.(1) This means you can head out with
confidence, knowing you’re outfitted with a comprehensive set of safety and security features.
Patriot’s air bag(2) system includes a front and rear side-curtain and advanced multistage driver and
front passenger air bags. Front seat active head restraints move forward and upward in the event of a
rear-end collision to decrease the space between the headrest and occupant’s head, thereby helping
to reduce the chance of injury — a new and standard safety feature.(3) The standard Electronic Stability
Control (ESC)(4) integrates a host of systems that includes a four-wheel antilock brake system (ABS),
all-speed traction control, a Brake Assist system that automatically helps provide strong braking power
in emergency situations, Electronic Roll Mitigation (ERM) that can apply strategic, appropriate braking and reduce engine
power when overly sharp steering actions and/or impending wheel lift is detected, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD),
Hill Start Assist and available Hill Descent Control (HDC). Patriot’s safety cage structure contains a front crumple zone
that absorbs energy during a frontal impact and a high-strength crossbeam under the rear seat area that helps transfer
side-impact energy from one side to the other. Plus, a standard Sentry Key® Antitheft Engine Immobilizer makes it virtually
impossible to drive without a valid key.
