Ihave gone through this book, viz., 'Guru Chintan' writ
ten by Giani Sant Singh Ji Maskin. He has written on more than
sixtytopics inthisbook.Averyfew bookscontainingsuchessen
tial topics have been seen. These essays fulfil the requirementof
learnedmen,writers and lecturers.
In the present times, these essays fulfil the requirement
which always remain underthe consideration ofthe Sikh people.
In these essays efforts have been made to successfully elaborate
thesubjectsingreatdetails,byremainingwithintheessentiallim
itsofthetopic.
The choice ofwords used is very appropriate and can be
easilyfollowed byeveryone.Theviewsexpressedareverysuper

Hewasbornfrom MotherRam KaurjiandFatherSardar
KartarSinghji in 1934atTownLakhi Marwat, DistrictBannu of
FrontierProvince(NowinPakistan).
Education
AfterpassingPrimaryclassesfromKhalsaSchool,hejoined
GovernmentHighSchool.ButduetothePartitionofIndiain 1947,
he could nottake theexamination ofmatriculation andcame and
settledatAlwarinRajasthan. Hisfatherbreathedhislastin 1952.
The separationofhisfather hadadeep impactonhismindandhe
began to remain very sad. He was theonly son ofhis mother. His
motherand other relatives advised him very much but he lefthis
home in sadness. Withthe instinctofa hermit, he met many nice
saintsandlearnedpeopleandgoteducation.Helearnedthemeanings
ofGurbani and knowledge ofGurmat from Nirmalai SaintGiani
BalwantSinghji. Thereafterhe got inclinedtowards Exegesis of
scriptures (qaT).
Marriage
He returned toAlwarafterfive years. Hewasvery happy
toseehismotheraridotherfamilymembers.Hismotherandother
family memberscoaxedhimformarriage. Inaccordance withthe
GurmatPrincipal.
