This action will go far to avoid further confusion with regard to the nominal species Palaeortyx phasianoides (Gruiformes), Mionetta blanchardi (Milne-Edwards, 1863) (Anseri- formes) and Ameripodius alexis Mourer-Chauvire, 2000 (Galliformes).
