The IBMfi Tivolifi Candlefi Products Messages: Volume 1 (AOP–ETX) book contains
product messages with prefixes AOP(cid:150)ETX. This manual is Volume 1 of a five-volume
message set that documents messages issued by IBM Tivoli Candle products. It is
intended as a reference for operations staff, systems programmers, and performance
analysts who need to interpret messages that are issued by IBM Tivoli Candle products.

Types of Messages
There are two types of messages:
(cid:1) (cid:147)Standard messages and abend codes(cid:148) on page 8
(cid:1) (cid:147)Online messages(cid:148) on page 9
Standard messages and abend codes
IBM Tivoli Candle products routinely issue standard messages and displays them on the
screen. Messages with the following prefixes are exceptions.
Products Prefix Exceptions
OMEGAMON II for DB2 EB, EU, and EP messages are written to the file or SYSOUT class
OMEGAMON II for DBCTL specified by the RKM2OUTM dataset.
OMEGAMON II for IMS
EC messages appear as WTO messages on the system operator
OMEGAMON II for MVS
console, in the RKM2OUTM or RKM2DUMP dataset output, or
as messages to TSO user terminals (if the NOTIFY keyword is
specified in rhilev.midlev.RKANPAR(KEPOPTN)).
Note: EU messages are equivalent to EP messages.
OMEGAMON II for MVS OM2
All OMEGAMON II KLE, KLU, and KLV messages are written to the RKLVLOG
products dataset.

Products Prefix Exceptions
All OMEGAMON II Messages displayed by additional features, such as PRO for MVS
products or OBTAIN, are included in this manual.
OMEGAMON II or OMEGAVIEW issues abend codes when an error occurs.
Note: For OMEGAMON II for MVS and OMEGAMON II for SMS, messages that appear
during the operation of OMEGAMON II may be issued from the product, Candle
Management Serverfi (CMS), or Candle subsystem address spaces.
Online messages
OMEGAMON II messages are also available as online documentation for

(cid:1) OMEGAMON II for DBCTL
(cid:1) OMEGAMON II for IMS
(cid:1) OMEGAMON II for MVS
These messages are in member KOCMSGS of thilev.TKANSAM. The online message file is
allocated and unloaded during the standard installation procedure. The online messages can
be browsed using ISPF or printed with JCL similar to that in the following figure.

Manual organization
This section explains the organization of this set of manuals.
Message numbering
The IBM Tivoli Candle Products Messages set of books consists of five volumes:
(cid:1) Volume 1 contains messages with prefixes AOP(cid:150)ETX.
(cid:1) Volume 2 contains messages with prefixes EU(cid:150)KLVGM.
(cid:1) Volume 3 contains messages with prefixes KLVHS(cid:150)KONCT.
(cid:1) Volume 4 contains messages with prefixes KONCV(cid:150)OC.
(cid:1) Volume 5 contains messages with prefixes ODC(cid:150)VEB and the appendixes.
The messages within each of these volumes appear in alphanumeric order by message
number. The message number begins with a prefix that identifies the product or component
that generated the message. The message text appears on the same line as the message
number. Following the message number and message text is one or more of the following:

(cid:1) Suggested response to the message
(cid:1) Description of the message type
(cid:1) Destination for the message
(cid:1) Severity of the message
Some messages are informational only; others advise you to take an action.
