Abstract AnewspeciesofthegenusCy1-1olytltsGANGLBAUERisdescribedfrom
northernThailandunderthenameofCkelicht1sp nov.Thisnewspeciesseemstobelong
tothesamegroupasC.ca11izonus(GAHAN)fromnorthernMyanmar,becauseofthelarge
prothorax,longelytra, elongatedlegsand thesamepatternofyellowpubescentmacula-
tion.ThisisasecondrepresentativeofthegenusfromThailand.
ThegenusCyrtoclytusGANGLBAUERisoneofthesmallgenerainthetribeClytini,
andcharacterizedbyveryshort thickenedantennae,globosepronotumandelongate
hindbody.Thegenushasso farbeenknownfromtwelvespeciesmainlyoccurringin
EastAsiatoSoutheastAsia.Sixspeciesofthegenushavealreadybeenrecordedfrom
Indochinaanditsneighboringareas,ofwhichtwospecies,C.ca11izonus(GAHAN) from
northern Myanmar and C fazoez NllsATo from northern Thailand, wereknown
as
beingendemictoIndochina.
Recently,anadditionalmemberofthegenusCyrto lytusfromThailandhasbeen
brought tomyhandthroughthecourtesyofMr.TakaoARAl.Thespeciesinquestion
hasblackbodywithordinaryyellowishmaculation,andremindsusofC.capra(GER-
MAR)widespreadinnorthernEurasiaandCcaproides(BATES) fromtheJapaneseIs-
lands.However,acloserexaminationhasrevealedthattheThaispeciesnodoubtbe-
longstothesamegroupasC.ca11izonus.
Inthispaper,Iamgoingtodescribeitunder thenameofC keiichiitothe
mem-
oryofthelateDr.KeiichiKusAMA.Thisisasecondspeciesofthegenusnamedafter
K.KusAMA.ThefirstoneisCkusamaiNllsATofromTaiwan,whichwasdescribedon
theoccasionofhisretirement fromShizuokaUniversityin1988.

A largespeciesofblack body, withordinarythreeyellowbandsonelytraand
longslenderlegs.
Colour largelyblack, partly reddishbrown, dull in general; headblack, with
mouthpartsdarkreddishbrownexcept formandibularapices;antennaereddishbrown
onbasal4segments,slightlyinfuscateonsegment5,andblacktobrownishblackon
segments6-11;pronotumandscutellumblack; elytrablack, palereddishbrownat
humeri,nearscutellum,onarcuatebandsonbasal3/10andalongapicalmargins;ven-
tralsurfaceblack,moderatelyshiny; legsreddishbrown,slightly infuscateon femora,
blackintrochantersandcoxae.Bodysparselyclothedwithreddishyellowhairs,and
partlydecoratedwithlemonyellowpubescence;headsparselyhaired,denselywith
lemonyellowpubescenceonfrons,except formidline,andthinlywithsimilarpubes-
cencenearposteriorpartandat innerpartsofeyes;antennaewithblackpubescence
except forreddishyellowpubescentscape;pronotumverysparselyhaire with lemon
yellowpubescencealongbasalmargin,thoughverysparselysoatmiddle;scutellum
densely with lemon yellow pubescence;elytramoderatelywithreddishyellowand
darkreddishbrownhairs,andalsodenselywithblackrecumbentpubescence,andeach
decoratedwithlemonyellowpubescentmaculationas follows: 1)anobliquenarrow
bandnearbasalfifthfairlyapart fromsuturalmargin,stronglybent forwardsnearex-
ternalmargjn,2)anarcuatetransversebandonbasal3/10barelyreachingsuturalma一「
gin,rathernarrowthoughslightlybroaderthantheanteriorban 3)atransversebroad
bandonapical2/5,moreorlessarcuateonbothanteriorandposteriormargins,4)a
andsparselypubescentapicalband;ventralsurfacewithsilverywhite
very narrow
hairs,especiallyonposteriormarginsofmetasternum,withdenselemonyellowpubes-
cenceatsidesofmesosternum,externalmarginofmesocoxae,posteriormarginsof
sjdesofmelacoxae,andapicalhalvesofabdominalsternites3and4; legsrather
denselyhaired.
Head largeandrather voluminous, heavily and densely punctured, except for
closelyrugoseocciput,HW/PA1.07,HW/PW0.81; fronsgentlyraisednearmiddle,
wjthaweakmedianlongitudinalcarinaextendingfromanteriormarginandshortlybi-
furcatejustbeforevertex,FB/Fi t.00;eyeslarge,distinctlyprominent,separatedfrom
eachotherbyabout3/10ofthemaximumwidthofhead;genae4/5thedepthof1oWe「
eye_lobes;vertexconcavealongmidline,moderatelyraisedtowardsantennalcavities,
whjchareseparatedfromeachotherby7/20themaximumwidthofhead.Antennae
short,stronglythickenedapica reachingbasal3/14ofelytra;scapeslightlydilated
apjcad,ratherweaklyarcuate,thelongest,1.2timesaslongasscape;segment3gently

simplyandratherstronglyconvex,highestatcentreofbasal third,withsurfacefjnely
andcloselyrugose.
Elytralongandrathernarrow,widestathumeri,EL/EW2.69;sideswithhardly
expandedhumeri,straightlyandslightlyconvergenttobasal3/10,gentlyemarginateto
apical2/5,thenarcuatetoapiceswhicharecompletelyrounded;discweaklyconvex,
almost attenedabove,deeplyandnarrowlyconcavealongsuturejustbehindscute1-
1um,andslightlydepressednearsutureatalevelbetweenbasal fifthandthemiddle,

Prosternumcoarselyandsomewhat rugoselypunctured, except forshagreened
areanearapicalmarginandonpresternalprocess.Mesosternumlargelyshagreene
strongly raisedatmiddleofmesosterna1process.Metasternumwellexpande sha-
closelythoughshallowlypunctured.Abdomendistinctlyelongate,gradually
greene
narrowedapicali,finelypunctured,thepuncturesbecomingdenseronapicalthreeseg-
ments;sternite7stronglynarrowedtoapex,coarselypuncturedinapical2/3,withapi-
calmarginarcuatelyroundedandshallowlyconcaveatcentre.
Legslongandratherslender; femorawithveryslenderpeduncles,withhindpair
extendingalittlebeyondtheelytra1apices,moderatelyclavateandslightlycompressed
inapicalhalves;tibiaeverythin;hindtarsithin,with1stsegment133timesaslongas
thefollowingtwosegmentscombined.

Notes. Thoughunlikeingeneralappearance,thisnewspeciesnodoubtbelongs
tothesamegroupasC.ca11izonus(GAHAN) fromnorthernMyanmar,mainlybecause
ofthestructureofpronotumandappendages,andoftheyellowishpubescentmacula-
tion.Thetworelativeshaveincommonsuchcharactersasthelargeglobosepronotum,
long elytra, short and thickened antennae, and elongated legs. However, this new
speciesiseasilydistinguished fromC. ca11izonusbyalmost entirelyblackground
colouroftheelytra.ThisnewspeciesissimilarinfaciestoC.capna(GERMAR)wide-
spreadinnorthernEurasiaanditssiblingspecies,C.caproides(BATES)endemictothe
Japanese Islands,but thetruerelationshipofthepresentspeciesseems fairlyapart
fromthem.ItalsodiffersfromCyunamensis(Pfc)inthedifferentcolouroftheelytra1
apices.

ThefirstoneisCtazoeiNIlsATofromDoiSuthepofChiangMal.
要 約
新里達也:タイにおけるキスジトラカミキリ属第2番目の極. - インドシナおよび周辺
地域におけるキスジトラカミキリ属Cy,・toclytusは6種がこれまでに記録され, そのうちタイか
らはC tazoel1種だけが知られていた. 今回, タイ北部のチェンライ県から採集された本属の
標本を検したところ, 既知のいずれの種とも異なり新種と認められたので, 本論文で命名記載
した. この新種は,前胸背板,上翅,角91角や肢などの形状, 黄色斑紋パタンから, 同じインド
シナのミャンマー北部から記載されたC.ca11izonusに類縁が近く, 両種が同一種群に所属する
ことはまちがぃなぃ.
