The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis is pleased to present Facts 
& Figures 2015-2016. This is the 36th edition of the UAB factbook, the seventeenth 
edition available electronically on the web.  Facts & Figures is compiled by the 
Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Analysis but reflects contributions from 
offices  all  over  campus.    We  remain  grateful  for  our  contributors’  continued 
assistance.

UAB is a research university and academic health center that discovers, teaches 
and applies knowledge for the intellectual, cultural, social and economic benefit 
of Birmingham, the state and beyond.

professional services and become the prominent scholars and societal leaders of
