The Torah is the living cosmic Truth of the Nothing (Ein Sof) that is
already encoded in our "inner parts" (our spiritual anatomy) and heart.
Spiritual Nutrition is a sacred blueprint for the awakening of our aware-
ness to the illuminated Truth and resonance of Yah (the Divine) in our

sacred spiritual anatomy (which includes the chakras, nadis, koshas,
subtle bodies, and sephirotic energies). The activation of these subtle
spiritual anatomies supports us in having the subjective experience of
the God-radiance of who we truly are and an increase of that illumina-
tion through our ability to hold more Light. This activation helps to sus-
tain us in the awareness of our eternal Oneness (Deveikut).
An ancient tradition says that each of the six hundred thousand people
present at the communication of the Torah (Old Testament) by God to
Moses on Mt. Sinai were given at least one section to interpret and share
as a teaching with their brothers and sisters. In each generation these
meaningful teachings of ancient wisdom are passed forward. This book
is this one's sharing of Genesis 12:1 and Exodus 34:28-29.
Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy
father's house, unto the land that

God as the name El Shaddhai (the Nurturer) instructs Abraham: "Lech
Lecha." From the viewpoint of the "culture of Liberation," (which is the
focus of this book) this means "Go to the Self" (I AM THAT). To do this,
one must let go of attachments and ego identifications with parents, cul-
ture, country, thought forms, illusion of the personality, and all identi-
fication with the body-mind-I AM complex; let go and surrender into
the Divine Self. This book is a blessing to inspire and support the reader
in the eternal journey of Lech Lecha.
And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did

Preface

its way by gradually winning over and converting its

Self-realization is the knowing - in body, mind, and soul - that
we are one with the omnipresence of God; that we do not have
to pray that it come to us, that we are not merely near it at all
times, but that God's omnipresence is our omnipresence; that
we are just as much a part of Him now as we will ever be. All
we have to do is improve our knowing.

A generation has transitioned since the first publishing of Spiritual Nutri-
tion and the Rainbow Diet (in 1986) revolutionized dietary consciousness.
This new generation of readers has lived within the context of Gabriels
teachings, influenced vibrationally, as we saw ourselves changing into
the at-one-ment generation within our hearts and souls. We saw the "old
order" struggle through the war, politics, and "business as usual," totally

tivity and scholastic materialism-driven infrastructure just to end up left
in despair, or even worse, in a state of numbness, munching on whole
wheat tofu-burgers with organic fruit juice. Yes, Gabriel's message is
timely "Spiritual Nutrition" is the genotype with self-perpetuating inner
guiding Light for our spiritualized DNA, taking quantum leaps into
genetic upgrade.
This updated version, speaks to the "inner child's" current needs and
creates an isle of safety, where the Light Workers can gather to be empow-
ered, guided, and inspired to bring the Light to all those who are ready
to transcend.
My story began twenty years ago.
I had in the past made several
attempts to meet Dr. Gabriel Cousens during my trips to California, but
had to wait until we both shared the same flight to and from Yugoslavia,
for the World Vegetarian Congress. Our first meeting was in total silence;
1 felt his special presence on the plane, without introductions. The return
home was quite different. High above the clouds of confused earthly
thinking, we shared experiences along the spiritual path that we had
both traveled from slightly different directions. We touched upon Kun-
dalini, kinetic mechanics of Love, God, and consciousness.
I was just
as excited as he was that he was creating a book on Spiritual Nutrition.
Six months later,
I was delighted to have the book (the first edition of
Spiritual Nutrition and the Rainbow Diet) in my possession. The table of
contents gave me an exciting menu of delicacies on which my mind was
eager to feast and digest. This brother is not only Divinely inspired, but
has been transformed by God in his very entrails. He tastes God as well
as is one with, and dines with, yes, God.
During the last twenty years,
I have witnessed an onslaught of books
on nutrition that prove to be useful within a certain clinical range of
individuals, but that in general create further confusion and disagree-
ment. Finally, we have a book, Spiritual Nutrition: Six Foundations for Spir-
itual Life and the Awakening oj Kundalini, that removes all contradiction.

It will become a standard for ages to come against which all other books
will be measured and put into perspective of relative importance.
It is
truly a book on wholism that redefines the human organism on the pre-
molecular level, and as having a relationship with all of existence.
This is not a book that any normal mortal can be expected to read
in a day, but many will be enticed to go through it in a single sitting.
Fasting while reading the book will help to keep the mind clear enough
to understand the quantum leaps of consciousness from traditional
wholistic to Divine nutrition. Reading Spiritual Nutrition feels like hav-
ing a conversation with God over a glass of wheatgrass juice. Patiently,
in the precise yet poetic language of science, spirituality, and Love, Gabriel
explains the One, how we can get to know that One, and how the sub-
tle as well as the gross universe exist and interact. We are treated to a
symphony of ideas using eternal truths, well-tested theories, hypotheses,
historic personalities, and spiritual phenomena as notes. Gabriel plays for
us a concert of timeless, eternal wholism that oscillates our chakras with
newfound happiness and outlines a natural map for activating their pow-
ers. We are shown how to bathe in an interlude of Infinite Love.
Dr. Cousenss model of Subtle Organizing Energy Fields (SOEFs), for
organizing energies as they manifest in more dense forms, helps to explain
the many seemingly exclusive phenomena: nutrition, breatharianism,
resurrection, longevity, chakras, consciousness, and biological trans-
mutation. We are presented with a unified theory, not only of nutrition
but also of existence. He describes an energy continuum with a spec-
trum of laws that apply within the specific frequency range of our mate-
rial plane. This theory lends itself to exploration beyond the limited
precepts of nutrition into the realms of Divinity.
Dr. Cousens designs a nuclear theory of nutrition.
It is of controlled
fission and fusion within enzymatic cyclotrons that create new elements.
These enzymatic cyclotrons control the micronuclear atomic bombs that
energize our essence within the full-spectrum potential of existence. We
are seduced into the experience of at-one-ment with the Source of All,
our own God Presence. His poetry is divinely inspired by Love of the
Divine Self and dedication to express
it by Love of all. His naked per-
sonal revelation of the spiritual transformation process will leave read-
ers eternally grateful and inspired to dedicate themselves to the inner
world of adventure.
The material is subtle and abstract. With Divine kindness, Dr. Cousens
keeps us from going into potential mental overload by sharing anecdotal

stories for illustrating a point or personal poetry that crystallizes a
moment. In each chapter, he introduces us to the intellectual terrain,
then dives into the adventure of expression and play, and finally ends
up summarizing, restating, unifying chapter ideas, and giving an overview
from still another perspective.
I never felt left behind or lost in the for-
est of words. Like any good teacher, he holds our hand and reassures
us, for which
I feel readers will be, as
I was, grateful.
My first reading will certainly not be the last. Spiritual Nutrition has
helped me a great deal to better understand my path and put more
energy into correcting spots of weakness.
It is a view that is taken into
my everyday existence, and the SOEFs help me to understand more
fully the daily phenomena of life. What I find especially exciting is that
it helps to clarify the live-food concept and how the processing of food
affects consciousness, energy, and spiritual aspiration. The book led me
to a deeper understanding of my experiences with Kundalini energy: a
reawakening that took place after a period of seven months of live food
and many years of celibacy, revealing itself through physical actions in the
spine, the delicacies of taste, smell of ecstatic fragrances, sounds of cre-
ation, and light of crystalline evolution as well as gifts of healing, para-
psychology phenomena of ESP, astral travel, and, above all else, the
meltdown of ego mass and the surrender to Love of all and desire to
serve all and experience the presence of God through every manifesta-
tion.
It explained my childhood communions. My experience in a seven-
week coma has helped me, in retrospect, to reconfirm the experience
and presence of the reality of the SOEFs as well as the holograms and
vortexes of the beautiful architecture as described by Brother Gabriel.
The book is spiritual history, scientific and humanistic phenomena
in a nutshell. Great thinkers have been supported and have stood on
the shoulders of other great thinkers in order to see further and deeper.
Dr. Cousens has built an intellectual pyramid of ideas, creating a uni-
fied field of thought.
This book is much more inclusive than the title implies. Its concepts,
when applied in everyday life, ashrams, and monasteries, will lead to
the highest manifestation of what some folks might call "saintly" peo-
ple.
It is a blueprint for creating the critical mass of conscious people
necessary for the planetary transformation into a peaceful, loving, human-
istic world. This book is for all God's children. For many,
it will take
years to read; for others, it will be understood without reading. For this
book is one whose time has come to reveal the Truth to all.
