So war Johann Gustav Droysens Ubersetzung von 1835 38 eine der ersten deutschen Aristophanes-Gesamtausgaben uberhaupt. Die vorliegende Untersuchung fragt einerseits nach Droysens Stellung zur klassizistischen Ubersetzungstradition, andererseits nach seinem Verhaltnis zur Aristophanes-Rezeption deutscher Vormarz-Autoren, die damals das politische Potenzial der Komodien neu entdeckten.
