Purpose

Decrease the incidence of pressure ulcers hospital-wide
through staff education
Goals

 Decrease the number of hospital-acquired stage III and
stage IV pressure ulcers by 50% in 2013 and 2014
 Decrease the prevalence of hospital-acquired pressure
ulcers by 50% with the 2014 Hill-Rom International
Pressure Ulcer Prevalence Survey (Hill-Rom 2014/PUPS)
 Educate 30% of RNs on pressure ulcer prevention during
Education Fair in July 2013
 Improve and standardize linen use hospital-wide to help
prevent pressure ulcers by January 2014

 January-March 2013: Work With Wound Care Team
 June 20, 2013: Present to Nurse Executive Council
 July 19 & 24, 2013: Pressure Ulcer Education Fair
 November 2013: Staff Re-education
 March 2014: End of Data Collection
 June 2014: Innovation Conference
