Get those bugs off, cause they will eat into the paint. Give it a good coat of wax too. Pull the battery, and take into a cool place for the winter or use a battery maintainer. I’m sure that if you look in your owners manual you will get even more tips. Finally cover the bike with a cover, or an old sheet. Something that breaths. If you store in a unheated shed, re- member the little furry critters with the beady eyes, are look- ing for a place to spend the winter. Moth balls have worked for me. There are other things that work too. Treat your scoot right, and it will be ready for you in the spring. At our last meeting we discussed plans for growing ABATE membership, and activities for next year. It would help if we had more people attending these meetings to get new ideas, and different ways of looking at things. This is your origina- tion, so come and help grow it. Some tips on that from some experienced riders: Top off the tank and add Sea Foam instead of sta-ble, some say it works better. Change oil, put on a Battery tender or remove battery. Most bikes have a slight draw of electricity and will kill the battery and freeze. Check with your dealer or mechanic for other tips and advice. Election time is here (Nov 6) for most (Dem vote Nov 7th, sorry - just kidding) so get out and vote! Many of your rights and freedoms depend on it. Check out the events going on at Stutsman Harley-Davidson, they always have some cool stuff going on and they support Abate.
