PREFACE
One of the tasks of the Scandinavian Institute of African
Studies in Uppsala is to survey the publications dealing
with Africa issued in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden,
as well as publications on development and technical assis-
tance, which also have been included in the present work.
The annual issues of the national bibliographies of Denmark,
Finland, Norway and Sweden have been examined for the years
items originally published in Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and
Swedish are translated into English. The English translation
of the title is put in brackets immediately after the title.
Egyptology is not included.
The purpose is to publish supplements to the present issue
every second or third year. No periodicals or articles from
newspapers or magazines are included. Those will be listed
in forthcoming parts of this publication.
The various subjects are arranged according to common
practice in Swedish libraries.
