No esperen una lucha caballerosa.Por supuesto, con semejante sinopsis llena de elementos góticos, folletinescos o puramente 'pulp' La torre herida por el rayo es sólo, en su superficie, realista y apenas oculta su condición de carnavalesca y brillante fantasmagoría, emparentada con la estética deformante del último Valle-Inclán o de Buñuel, quizás uno de sus referentes más obvios. Sus fabulosos personajes podrían haber sido sustituidos por Fu Manchú y el Doctor No, o por Magneto y el Joker o, incluso, los dos payasos asesinos de Balada triste de trompeta de Álex De la Iglesia. Como toda obra genuinamente innovadora, puede generar incomprensión, alarma, rechazo.
